Covid-19 Safety Precautions

Your health and safety is important to us. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We will update our policy as guidelines change. Please see our new health and safety guidelines below regarding clinic visits.

  • All staff have received the Covid-19 vaccine.
  • All staff and patients will be screened daily for any symptoms or exposure to Covid-19. Our staff will be monitored for any Covid-19 symptoms daily, including temperature checks before each work day. Patients will be asked a series of screening questions prior to their appointment.
  • All staff, patients, and visitors are required to wear a face mask while in the clinic.
  • Physical therapists and patients are required to wash hands prior to each appointment. All of the equipment will be sanitized after each use and we will also have hand sanitizer dispensers for your use during your appointment.
  • All appointments are one-on-one with the physical therapists and support staff.
  • Social distancing will be adhered to except for times when manual therapy is needed.
  • The clinic will be arranged so each PT and their patient will have their own section of the clinic.
  • To create a well ventilated space, we will leave all of the windows open, run our exhaust fan systems, and also fresh air intake systems. Air will be flushed out of the clinic, not circulated within. With the increased air flow, it could be chilly at times, so please please dress in layers.
  • Hyper frequent cleaning of all equipment will be implemented between all patient visits.
  • Appointments will start and end on time to avoid patient overlap.
  • We are limiting visitors to the clinic. We ask that you do not bring others with you to the clinic unless they are an essential care giver.

Scheduling Appointments

To schedule a clinic visit or a tele-health visit, please email us at or call the front desk at 415-682-9902.

We want to thank all of you for your support and for choosing Ocean Beach Physical Therapy for your PT needs. Please contact us with any questions, concerns, or feedback; we would love to hear from you. We look forward to working with all of you, whether it's in the clinic or via tele-health.
Wishing everyone good health! Many thanks from the team at OBPT!

OBPT is now offering Tele-Health visits. We primarily use the app Zoom for our tele-health appointments. If there is another video conferencing app that is more convenient for you, we can use that as well. Our therapist will work with you on what application to use, but you will need access to a smart phone or computer with an Internet connection. The session is 45-60 minutes and we will schedule it ahead of time like a regular appointment. We will evaluate your injury through a combination of interviewing you about your symptoms and observing you move. Your physical therapist will then educate you on the plan of care and prescribe a home exercise program for you to work on until your next follow up visit.

Tele-Health Rates

We are able to bill some of the insurance companies at this time, but we will need to check with your insurance company first. For those of you that do not have insurance, we are offering a reduced cash rate. If you would like to set up an appointment, please email us back at or call the front desk at 415-682-9902 and we will call you to go over the details and set up the appointment.

We thank you for all of your support during these challenging times.
We look forward to being able to work with all of you back in the clinic as soon as we can.

Ocean Beach Physical Therapy

Ocean Beach Physical Therapy offers a unique approach to injury rehabilitation. With a staff of seasoned runners, skiers and cyclists as well as a competitive level surfer, Ocean Beach PT brings first-hand sports experience to our patients. Specializing in extended appointments and customized home exercise programs, we also incorporate Pilates principles and equipment into treatment. Whether you are a weekend warrior or training for an elite sporting event, Ocean Beach PT can help get you back on your feet and working towards your goals. (aquatic therapy also offered)

Pilates Based Rehabilitation

In order to maximize your rehab, we utilize a combination of mat exercises and pilates equipment to develop core strength and body symmetry.

Aquatic Physical Therapy

We incorporate aquatic-based physical therapy to gently improve your strength and range of motion avoiding the sometimes excessive impact of full weight bearing exercises.

Home Exercise Program

From day one, we teach you a customized home exercise program, empowering you to manage your injury and continue to improve your health after treatment is completed.

Manual Therapy

We use manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue massage, myo-fascial release, stretching, and joint mobilization to alleviate your pain and balance out asymmetrics in your body.

Depending on the stage of your injury, modalities such as ultrasound, iontophoresis, electric stimulation, traction, and hot and cold packs are used to alleviate symptoms and speed recovery.

Comprehensive Spine Care

In our comprehensive approach to resolving back pain, we teach you proper body mechanics, stabilization exercises and self-treatment techniques to supplement the soft tissue work, manual therapy, and modalities you receive in the clinic.

Personal Training

Overall strength and flexibility personal training is available for non-injured individuals and post-rehab patients. We analyze posture and muscle length to design sport-specific and customized exercise programs.

Free fifteen minute consultations are available to discuss your individual needs and to determine if you can benefit from physical therapy.
