Lance

Lance is the clinic's owner and has worked in the physical therapy field since 1996. He is an active diver and snowboarder, as well as an expert surfer having surfed Mavericks consistently since 1995. Lance has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, including a special emphasis on knee and shoulder injuries. With his surfing background and orthopedic physical therapy experience, Lance has become the go to person for surfing related injuries. He occasionally helps out as a member of the onsite healthcare team at ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) events in California. He is also involved with Operation Rainbow, a nonprofit organization dedicated to performing free orthopedic surgery for indigent children and young adults in developing countries worldwide. Lance has gone on multiple medical missions to countries in Central and South America. He also leads the aquatic therapy program offered by the clinic.

Kristin Goodrich

Kristin is a bay area native who completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University. She enjoys working with all types of patients and her goal is to assist them in returning to what they are passionate about, whether it is sports, work, or being independent with everyday activities. She strives to do this through a blended treatment approach that includes patient education, biomechanical assessment, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise. Outside of work Kristin is an avid rower. She competed on the US rowing team from 2001-2003 and has been involved with coaching youth, collegiate, and masters level athletes for 10+ years. She also enjoys trail running, cycling, gardening, cooking, and drawing.

Kate Howell

Kate has a passion for movement and spending time in the outdoors, especially in the water. She is motivated to help you regain your health and return to a pain-free lifestyle. Kate wants you to thrive in your own pursuits-, whether it’s walking without crutches or bike racing. She loves teaching her patients biomechanics and pain-free movement patterns while focusing on the whole patient. Kate strives to help patients problem solve how to be their best regardless of the injury, trauma or surgery they have sustained. Outside of the clinic, Kate is active in the marathon open water swimmer community. She has swum multiple 21+ mile crossings in both lakes and ocean. Kate has experience riding centuries and mountains on her bike, running marathons (even ultras!) and racing triathlons. She also loves walking her dogs at Ocean Beach daily. Kate is fluent in Spanish and speaks Portuguese. Additionally, Kate is a certified lymphatic therapist specializing in treating patients with lymphedema secondary to cancer treatment, especially breast cancer, as well as general swelling and edema management following orthopedic injury and surgery.

Jake Koch

As a former baseball and basketball athlete, Jake tries to bring that team mentality when working with his patients to achieve their goals and strives to get them back to doing the activities they enjoy. He has experience working with a wide range of orthopedic injuries and patients rehabbing from post-operative surgeries. In his free time, Jake enjoys playing basketball and indoor soccer. And as a San Francisco native, is always rooting for the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers.
